Meet Anthony Davis, Esq.
Anthony Hayes Davis II is the Director of Advocacy for Consumer Law at Maryland Legal Aid. He is tasked with the management and supervision of the Foreclosure Legal Assistance Project, along with other statewide initiatives that impact consumer issues, including but not limited to, those involving debtors’ and homeowners’ rights; foreclosure defense relating to delinquent mortgages and homeowner association dues; Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy; property tax and utility bill collection; debt collection defense; wage and bank garnishment exemption claims; and affirmative litigation to address fraud, deceptive acts and practices, predatory lending, and other violations of consumer protection statutes. Prior to working with Legal Aid, Mr. Davis worked as a trial lawyer involved in complex litigation and debt restructuring; as a staff attorney with the Maryland Association of REALTORS; and, he is a former mathematics instructor. He has been acknowledged as a past recipient of the Lee A. Caplan Pro Bono Service Award by the Pro Bono Resource Center of Maryland and honored as the Pro Bono Volunteer of the Year by the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Maryland
